These terraced fields suit not only rice-growing, but also other types of crops, such as the peppers being grown in this part of Bali.

In other parts of Bali, entire valleys have been terraced.  The natural river courses run through the fields.  Farmers burn the stubble of old crops, creating magical misty scenes.
